With its central location and unique view onto the mountain Jungfrau, the Höhematte invites you to spend some time there. Surrounded by walking paths and trees, the field is a popular landing site for paragliders who color the sky.
The artistic «Mersmann Fountain» is a historic landmark in the center of Interlaken. Surrounded by a scenic landscape, the fountain is a reminder of the traditional history of the region.
The «Japanese Garden» in Interlaken was created in 1995 as a gift from the twin town of Ōtsu in Japan. With its pond, the traditional pavilion and the unique design, the garden reflects the surrounding region.
Formerly a landing stage for boats from Lake Brienz, the English Garden is a place of peace and quiet. The colorful flowerbeds and shady walking paths make it a popular hideaway.
The historic Interlaken Castle, formerly an Augustinian double monastery from the 12th century, is an important historical building in the region. The castle park with its peaceful atmosphere invites you to take a stroll.
The Great Watergate is a stunning technical structure built in 1854 that connects the River Aare with the Lake of Brienz. As an important element of water regulation in the region, it is an impressive example of the engineering skills of Interlaken.
Just a few minutes away from the busy Höheweg, the charming old town of Unterseen invites you to rest and enjoy yourself. The Stadthausplatz forms the heart of the town, while the historic rows of houses, restaurants and cafés create a cozy atmosphere.
The municipality of Matten is known for its cultural traditions and highlights. The annually performed Tell open-air plays, which tells the story of the Swiss national hero William Tell in a lively way, are especially outstanding.
The Kursaal Park has been the cultural center of Interlaken since 1859. With its peaceful atmosphere, quiet walking paths and artistic flowerbeds, the garden surrounds the Congress Kursaal Interlaken. The statue of Yash Chopra reminds us of the legendary Bollywood director who made Interlaken famous worldwide.
At an height of 1,322 meters, the Harder Kulm offers one of the most spectacular views in the region. In addition to the unique natural surroundings, a viewing platform offers an unforgettable panoramic view of the lakes of Thun and Brienz, the region of Interlaken and the Alps.
The «Hardermannli» is a striking rocky outcrop above Interlaken. According to its legend, an arrogant man who challenged nature and the gods was punished for his sins and turned into the Hardermannli rock. If you look closely, you can still see his petrified face today.
